The A-Level Club / Case study 01
One trusted tutor.
Room to grow.
Helping a trusted tutoring business
grow beyond one person’s time.

The starting point
A reputation.
An audience.
Only so many hours.
Biology by Clare had established a reputation, an audience and a successful tutoring business. But a business built around one person’s expertise has a natural limit: their time.
The A-Level Club was the next chapter—a wider tutoring service bringing together carefully selected tutors and mentors across multiple subjects. Our role was to give the business a practical way to support that expansion, while preserving the trust and personal attention that made Biology by Clare successful.
The next chapter
A reputation built around Clare.
More tutors. More mentors.
A business ready to support more families.
01 / Making trust transferable
More people.
The same reassurance.
Parents needed to feel confident entrusting their child’s education to someone they might never have met. We designed the website and mentor journey to make individual strengths visible: academic backgrounds, subject knowledge, exam-board experience and teaching approach.
An introductory conversation with Clare remained an important part of the journey, connecting the reassurance of the established business with the possibilities of the new service.
The business, branching out
It started with one.

1 founder. 3 fellow tutors. 10 mentors.
A shared team. More subjects. Room to grow.
Behind the enquiry
Understand first.
Then connect.
Different students need different support. A single enquiry funnel couldn’t account for that.
Parents and students answer a few focused questions about what they need. Suitable enquiries have a clear route to a conversation with Clare. Where the service cannot help yet, relevant follow-up keeps the relationship open. Clare can understand the situation before the call, and families know what to do next.
02 / The right next step
One enquiry.
Different possibilities.
Understand the student before deciding where the journey goes.

Stay in touch for the futureClare can see which enquiries become conversations—and where people need more support.
03 / Practical by design
Room to grow.
Still personal.
Growing the business should not mean losing the personal attention families value. We kept a human touch where it mattered, with some follow-up handled personally while enquiry numbers made that practical.
The result is a way of working that suits the business today and can adapt as more families come through the door.
The outcome / A foundation for growth
Beyond one
person’s capacity.
The early outcome is a business equipped to operate beyond one tutor’s personal capacity: a broader team, a clearer understanding of each enquiry, relevant follow-up and a defined route from initial interest to a conversation.
The A-Level Club is live and continuing to evolve as subjects, mentors and acquisition activity expand.
It builds on an existing Biology by Clare audience of more than 2,000 email subscribers. Clare can see where interest turns into booked conversations and where families need more help taking the next step.
An ongoing growth project. Built to develop with the business.
